news, updates, what's fuzzing right now!

Hello, the blog is not that active...yeah we know..blog is not our kinda thang...

but hey, if there's someone reading this we thought we could make a couple of updates and stuff. since last we've gotten hold of some Craneium patches, they sell for 3€/piece, really cool to put on your jackets n such.

We are also very delighted to inform you that we have sold all of our green cassettes called "the slowerdrive tapes". Last one gets shipped today. For those of you who dont know, we've released it in its whole on youtube. You can listen to all 7 tracks.

What other news do we have, lets see, we had our first gig this year at Portti in our hometown of Turku, Finland. The gig went well and the Craneium machinery is up and running! We played togehther with the bands Mary & The Dead and Rama Lama Fa Fa Fa, both very cool bands, I suggest you check them out! It was also very nice to see so many people come out and listen to the bands, we were really suprised by all the people who showed up, we salute you!

we were filming the show, but we forgot to hand over the Zoom to our friends when we went on stage, damn*#"°!! hmm, pic instead: Courtesy of Mr. M.Ferarri and Mr. A.Österlund

The whole band going up in smoke!

mr. bassplayer and guitarman doing some fuzzrocking!

We are also very very exited about our next release, some of you may have allready seen what it's about. VINYL, that's right VINYL!

The vinyl will be released in about a week, it's a 12" split with the band 3rd Trip from Helsinki, they play some Fu Manhu:ish desert rock and they do it well, we are honored that they contacted us to play on the split with them. The Split will go for about 10€/piece, since we were thinking that they could include a Craneium patch aswell, that's a sweet deal if you ask me!

Anyways, the song is called "The Gnome" and it's heavy as F@*k! Really gnarly and full of fuzzy madness, even a little line from the film "satans sadist" made its way onto it. We've got a testpressing and it sounds niiice, hearing your own work/band on vinyl is something extra, fantastic, the boyhood dream! The album artwork will be posted later, but it features an old photo taken by the drummers father in the 60s if I remember it correct. More on that later!

Pic of the test pressing vinyl!

But it doesen't stop here, we have an upcoming minitour this weekend. We will play together with our good friends in Shitboot.

3 gigs, Jakobstad, Kronoby and Tammerfors. Look up the facebook event if you are interessted!

This will be very cool, we think, we've had some problems in getting the gigs, since we couldn't move the dates. That is because our bassplayer is flying in from sweden where he is studying abroad this year. But what the hell, we've got 3 gigs and we always make it count where ever we play and eventhoug the bartender would be the only one there. But most of all it will be mighty fine to play with Axel again, our last gig with him vas in june of 2013! we are happy he's joining us! very happy.

oh, the tour is called JOINT FORCES, so look out osthrobothnia, we're coming your way!

Keep your eyes open for the vinyl release, contact us on FB if you're interessted in it.

Post-halloween updates

Hey people!

The blog has been kind of inactive - facebook is a good way to communicate in several ways, but i guess it is destroying the diversity on the internet. In real life, however, we have not been inactive.

-Bassplayer Axel nowadays live in Göteborg, Sweden, so we are looking at some springtime touring options over there. So if you attended our last gig in Turku, "Saatananpalvelu ja juoputtelua vol.1" (=devil worship & drinking) you could see us rock out with our stand-in bassist and friend Andy!

-Our debut album "The Slowerdrive Tapes" was well received and the first 100 are almost sold out. We are planning a vinyl release with new material next year. Probably some smaller release will happen before that - we usually act fast once we get to it!

-We moved to a new rehearsal space, with the mighty bands Kirk Grim and Shitboot. (Check them out!)

-We are now a registered company, and working with Skaapa booking to gig more all over Finland. Playing live is the thing we love most, and even these few "slow" months have made us impatient. 29.11 we are supporting Mars Red Sky (FRA) at Turun Klubi with Reactor. After that we hope to bring the Craneium roadshow to other towns! Wuh! See you around.

The album is now streaming at youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x71TIMPQStc

A new year

Hi Yall!

So, a new year is here once again, and another one is behind us. For us last year was special because it was our first real year as a band, and what a year it was! We've played way more gigs than we thought we would, in places and venues we didn't think we were ready for. Our second gig ever was abroad, and even though we could have saved that one for later, since we've evolved so much, we don't regret anything! We've played at Klubi in Turku three times, two on the big stage and one on the smaller stage, and we got to go to Helsinki's Bar Loose in the last minute. It feels great to have been able to see some places outside our own town during our first year in existence!

It took some time but before Christmas we released our first demo, "The SloWerdrive Tapes" (found on this site under"music") which has been listened to more times than we could ever have hoped for. I think that 2012 was the year when we laid the groundwork for Craneium, when we slowly progressed towards our own sound and image.

2013 has a lot to bring us that we don't know about yet, but we´re looking forward to it. We have plans to release an EP on 10" 45rpm vinyl (odd size is odd), if we manage to collect the funds for it. We are also planning on throwing our own club night, "Åbo Church of Doom" at Klubi, and we are looking for bands to invite to play with us. Stay updated by liking and following us on facebook and twitter

Here are the songs on our first demo. Listen and enjoy!

Live footage

Cheerio!

The guys at El Gringo, Vaasa,  were smart enough to install a camera directed at the stage, and you guessed it! - it recorded us too.

So, without further ado: Watch as we play the songs "El Capitano" and "The Gnome".

Ps. Especially check out 14:15, and you'll see some rock n- roll-maneuver-fail.

The future and the past

Hi ya'll!

The boys of the band is gathered again in Turku, lurking in the shadows of the Church of Doom, We're hyped about starting rehearsing again, and we're shure that our boys have come up with fantastic riffs during the summer.

On August 11th we had a last minute booking, where we got to warm up the crowd for the almost legendary goth/ambient veterans of And Then You Die (ATYD), at the lovely Bar Loose in Helsinki. Even though the crowd wasn't that huge (due to the Flow Festival) we shure kicked some serious, fuzzed up posterior. We would like to thank everyone who treated us as royalty, and the burgers were nice too! (Not a band, actual food)

Anywho, we are playing a show in the very rock n' roll city of Vasa, up in Osthrobotnia (or the dunes as we call it) on September 16th. The place isn't too big, so the sweat-to-oxygen-ratio will be huge as we bring our guns to the teaparty (as the brits would say). The gig starts at 11PM.

We'll post some pics from from the show at Bar Loose soon, and maybe even a recording from the same show.

Cheerio!
